Just listened to "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton. If anyone has taken the time to check out the bass, it's a tight, well-written and played track!

    Listen up...

I saw VC open for the Goo Goo Dolls in Buffalo NY back in 2003 and she put on a great show.

My "SOTD" is "Never Again" by Nickelback.....

  3. I get into Goth & horror themes during October, so I can keep listening to the Misfits & Black Sabbath as usual!

Never was a fan of the vocalist, but that bass player has a great sound.

We played that song in a cover band I was in back in 02/03 or so, when it was still fairly new. It's one of the top 5 songs in my list of "favorite covers."

  8. There is thunder and lightening outside so it is "Summertime" by Laurel Aitken with the Skatalites.
Great bass line and the horns are just sweet.

band is working on this tune for our next gig. Great example of a technically simple bass line that nevertheless absolutely drives the song. We will not be wearing these outfits.

Michael Rhodes said in an interview that this is some of the best work he's ever done that hardly anyone has ever heard. I can listen to this all day, and today I probably will. :)
