  2. You already know the rated resistance of the pots you buy, and the actual resistance can only be determined by measuring.

    Good point.
    I used the third calculator to find out what value resistor I should add to a pot I measured at 238k ohms.
     
  4. 238k is within 4.8% of 250k. That is an excellent tolerance, so no adjustments are needed. Especially considering that pot values don't really matter in instruments.
