Power Amp Clip

  1. It has been clipping for a while now and i was wondering what should i do buy a better power amp right now i use a peavey cs800s and think that is the problem

    Regardless of what amp you're using, if you have to clip it to get it loud enough, you don't have enough watts. Buy more watts!
  3. What Pete said, and if you don't have the $, try to get a cheap compressor/limiter. Not quite the equivalent of more power, but it can keep your amp from clipping, and still put out good volume.

    Yep, and make sure you have enough cab to handle those watts. If you're clipping a 75 W amp into a 100 W speaker, getting a 1200 W amp will solve one problem but probably create another.

    Get a more efficent cab - more bang for the buck.
