I have great results with either my PLX3002 or 2402. I don't think Jim is too fond of the PLX series of amps, but weight is a bit of a issue with me these days. E-mail Jim, he is always a great help!!

I'm pretty sure that if you ask Jim, he'll suggest a Crest CA9...

Jim was very helpful and he did recommend the Crest CA9 and the Crown K and Micro/Macrotech series amps. Those are nice amps, but boy are they heavy. Isn't there some middle ground out there?

i'd just get a nice QSC PLX with as much wattage as you can possibly afford, and be done w/ it. :)

I would choose the CA9 over either a PLX series amp (I own a PLX 3002) or the Stewart World 2.1 (which I also own). To my ears, at least, it's a rather noticable improvement. But, if weight is an issue, I preferred the tone of the Stewart to the PLX 3002.

The Stewart World 2.1 sounds great with my Berg HT310. When I need more oomph I use the HT310 along with either an HT115 or HT210. The Stew has plenty of watts for both cabs.
