power-amp recommendation's?

    i need something that will run about 1000 watts at 2 ohms that is reasonably priced,-plan to use in combination with a sans amp rbi rackmount.

    It'll do more than what you "need", but my top SS power amp of choice is the Crest CA9. A CA6 might do it, too, but the 9 isn't much more money, and the size and weight (which, BTW, is substantial!) are the same.

  3. Yep, CA9 is what I'd go with. In fact I did.
     
  4. The QSC RMX1450 puts out 450w@4ohms x 2 or 700w@2ohms x 2. If you have 2 cabs you would get 900watts. If you have 1 cab you would get 700watts with a 700watt reserve for more cabs. At $400 new that's a lot of power and quality.

    Crown MA2402 (reasonably priced -- maybe used) or Carvin DCM2000.
     
  6. A couple of the online stores are saying the Crest CA9 is currently out of production but some of the other stores seem to have them. Looks like the CA9 isgoing to be hard to find soon! :(
