There's going to be a big power amp "shootout" taking place this Saturday and Sunday, 27 & 28 March, in Emeryville, California, at the Ex'Pression Center for New Media.

Although this even is geared toward sound reinforcement, it might be of interest to bass-playing ampheads. ;)

    See ProSoundWeb for more information.

Darn it, this is a week late. I spent last weekend being dragged through Ikea without an escape plan! :(

What? No tubes? Forget it! :spit:

Heh, actually, me and a fellow TBer have been doing some power amp shootouts of our own recently. QSC 1400 vs. Boogie Strategy 400. Not much of a contest there, really (sorry Greg!).

I think that would be a cool thing to go to, though. Too bad I have to work. Thanks for the head's up anyway!

Any idea when the follow up article will be posted on ProSoundWeb?

No worries, we're on the same page here! Next up: Boogie M-180, Strategy 500 (should be in this week) and Strat 400 (or Coloseum... your choice!).

My initial impression of the M-180: this is one frikkin' loud amplifier! And the sound is excellent. Not bad for a 20+ year old piece of equipment... :D

I had a feeling stewart wouldn't enter their junk (from my own experience)
