so...at one of the local music stores they have 3 options for power conditioners -

    furman PL-8 @ $149
    samson somethingorother @ $140

or this other non-brandname one with no lights @ $60.

now i could give a crap about the lights, i'll just get a clip light to go along with my clip fan ( :) ), but in talking to a salesperson (who's father, incidentally, works at the company that makes the $60 one) he says that the only difference is the size of the "mauve." - the thing that stops surges and conditions the power. he says the cheaper one just has a smaller one.

so - does that mean that the $60 one is closer to a power conditioner or a power strip?

  2. Furman makes a $60 one. I got mine at GC for like $65, no lights no flashy things, just a power conditioner. Works fine. See if they can special order you one or somthing. You dont have to pay the extra like $50 just for lights that you wont need. (the nice people at eden built in flashy lights that work for me)

I went all out an got the Furman with the lights and the volt meter. I like it, and thought that my head needed some protection that I could really trust. I know I didnt have to spend that much, but I like it when people give me that weird look when I slide the lights out and mess with the dimmer!
