    Hi all,

If you needed a lot of power (like 500 watts or more, with 4x10 and 1x15 or 4x12 and 1x15) what would you buy, Peavey or Hartke or is there another brand to look at?
Are these two in the same price range?
    I play a lot of different styles and I have a MIA Jazz and a '74 P-bass.
Thanks for your opinions is advance.

If I had to pick between those two, go with the Peavey. I don't believe that Hartke makes a bass amp that will do 500 watts or more. The HA7000 will only do 350 a side.

If you are on a Peavey/Hartke budget, then that Peavey is about all you have to go with. Many people like the Ashdown amps, so you may want to have a look at them as well.

Well hartke has a new head the 550, delivering 500@4ohm.
I thought Ashdown was more expansive?
I've only played teh little 130 thing, didn't like it. But it's worth a try if I can find a dealer.
    Thanks for the input,

  4. It would be worth it to look into Yorkville, too.

i have a peavey 8x10 and the thing works perfect. the lows just rumble everything in site if thats what ur looking for. the only problem is that u have to make sure to set ur frequency in the back perfect or above cuz itll trip the horn.

If reliability is a concern ( and it should be) go with Peavey.
