power module for diy powered cab

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by link wray, Sep 13, 2005.

  1. I recently built my own cab. It is not a powered cab but i did consider to make it one so i did some research on power modules. The best candidate turned out to be the Hypex UcD400 ( www.hypex.nl ). It is very powerful and light, does not produce a lot of heat, and is also the poweramp in the latest Hevos amp ( www.hevos.nl ), wich is reported to be very good. It is a class D amp.
I thought i'd share the info with tou all, just in case some of you are looking for a power module.
( and no, even though hypex is from my home town i am not affiliated with them.)

I read the thread on the UcD400 a couple months ago. They seem quite impressive, especially for their size and price. I've been considering ordering the module with the power supply for some time now. It's interesting that when I first saw these I immediately thought how perfect they would be in a bassamp. If you get a chance to try the Hevos please report back. Thanks.
