Poweramp to use with SVT-2P

    Hi, I need a bit power-amp advice......

I've decided recently to go Ampeg amp into my Ashdown 4x10 cab.

As money is scarce at the moment, I thought it would be a good idea to get hold of a SVT-2P preamp and bypass the preamp in my existing 200W head. I had to do a bit of re-jigging to the existing head to do this as it has no effects loop.....

Anyway, I'm getting a pretty lousy sound with this setup, to get more volume it seems I'm constantly overloading the poweramp so I figure I probably need to try and get hold of a dedicated poweramp.

I've never gone down the seperate power+pre amp route so I'm not sure what I'm looking at... Does anyone have any suggestions on models/brands. I really need something cheap, and was thinking of Behringer....?

Secondly, my cab can handle 600W, so is it better to get a matching 600W amp despite me never realistically needing to go that loud?
