Practice- Guitar amp thru Headphones

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Oldie but noobe, Feb 25, 2005.

  1. From what I am reading here, I would think it would be OK, as long as you Bypass the speaker by using phones, Yes? :D

I guess maybe Vamp and headphones.

What headphones are you using? Does it matter?

    should be fine
the headphones dont matter as long as they dont distort too easy. the vamp might have some kind of compression on it to stop that. i use a pair of akg 240 which are nowhere near "the best". they are a lot more expensive than a cheap pair, but they dont distort with a bass signal either.

Well, what is the best pair of headphones is still disputed and subjective...
But the K 240S is nice. Not exactly flat, but goes well with low freqs.

A cheaper alternative with a flatter freq. response - and also useable for portables, would be the Sennheisser PX100.
  4. Thanks guys
