Pre-amp output to power amp input

I am looking to use a Demeter pre-amp with a Carvin Pro Bass 500 head. I want to use the Carvin as a power amp only bypassing the Carvin's bad sounding pre-amp. Can I accomplish this by connecting the pre-amp output to the "power amp input" on the Carvin head? Next question: the balanced output on the Demeter pre-amp runs to house board PA. I also have two 1/4" outputs on the Demeter pre-amp. Is this signal reduced or changed by using two or more outputs on the pre-amp? I use two outputs with current setup (balanced for PA and unbalanced for stage monitor), and I have not noticed any noticeable change.

Yes.

I don't know if the Carvin has a switch to seperate any internal connections between the pre and power sections.
If is does make sure they are switched to be disconnected.
