i got a question for you pre EB Sting Ray owners: i got an old MM B00-Bass (1976 ?), which i purchased from ebay a few months ago. there's something strange about the electronics, because the bass- and treble-pots have a center-position (i mean cut and boost) ! none of my 5 pre EB MMs have an electronic like this !
can the electronic be original, or have i been fooled by the seller ??
if i've been fooled: has anybody some vintage spare-electronics for me ?

You can open up the electronics cavity and see if it has the expoxy coated preamp. If so then the pots may have just been changed.

If it has boost and cut on a B00 bass it probably has been changed. Either just the pots or the whole preamp.

Defintely been changed.....I've owned plenty 76'79 Rays....there should be no middle detent on those pots.

Contact me if you want the real deal...I've got a few control panels with original parts I got from the factory...they are from 77, 78.
