A couple of things you should know:

1- When it comes to Pre-Gibson Tobias basses... Believe the hype! I am a Ken Smith fanatic but after my recent venture into the Pre-Gibson Tobias world I have found that there is something special about these basses so if you've been wondering, yeah you owe it to yourself to take the plunge!

    2. If you don't already know, Basspro is the man when it comes to Pre-Gibson Tobias!

    3. If you like Fodera or Ken Smith, that's great, they still make those. Or MTD for that matter. Pre Gibson Tobias, they don't make those any more so there is only a limited number of those bad boys to go around so if you can get a hold of one, you must!

    4. If I hadn't picked up a classic I would be all over this one!

    5. Bump for a great TBer!

Dang. Wish it were fretted. I'd be all over this.
  6. Wow, very reasonable price on a pre Gibson.

I agree.....I own two pre-Gibs and can't say enough about them. The Bubinga is really a beautiful wood, which you can't really see in pics. If I knew how to play fretless, this would be mine!

What a beautiful bass. Gibson era ones are also real nice. USA built Tobias's pre or Gibson era are very sought after since they rarely come up used for sale. :)

$2300 is highway robbery. It blows my mind that this is this cheap and still here. Somebody could buy it and have a fret job done cheaper than a fretted version of the bass!

Nice bass. But if you want fretted buy fretted. I have a fretless converted to fretted and it's kind of hard to see the position markers. I'm going to have new dots put on. Bass kills though. Mine is a red stain bubinga, one of few Mike told me. :bassist:
  13. Fernando I see you have done it again. Don't know where you find these pre Gibson's. You are the man! Good luck with the sale! Nice looking bass by the way!
