    Bruce, you're tryin' too hard.

Or, as I once read in a cartoon in the New Yorker (The context eludes me)

"Shut up, dahling. One shouldn't be so obvious."

I fear you'll have a hard time selling it! :(
I had a 4 strings just like yours and it was really hard to sell (I didn't like it enough to justify keeping it).

A Fodera emperor Neck-trough 5(may be Imperial:I'm waiting fir the price).

But I'll miss my Toby anyway;may be I'll keep it and de-fret it.

Well, I hope that the Fodera is worth its price... for it's a lot harder to find the right bass, I love punchier sounds (hardwoods).

I guess you're really happy while you wait for your new axe... I've forgot that sensation... all is lost when you get more than 30 basses in a year :D

No, I'm serious, but I obviously don't own all those basses. I used to buy and sell them, looking for "the one" :)

Why didn't you already find "the one"?
What kind of bass are you looking for?

    I've found it, but I go on buying/selling :D
I've found lots of very nice basses, though. About the Toby, I can say that it's a bit overrated (IMHO) but your price is fair and the bass is just good if you want that old school, serious tone.
I found that it sounded better bypassing the preamp (it just adds too much lows!).

    So,which bass was the one?
Which Tobias did you own?A pre-gibson,or not?

I can't figure how your tobias could get more low-end through by-passing the preamp
