Which string brands and models?
I use LaBalla Super Sets.
Well I am very fortunate to own a pregibson classic 5 but I could not contain my self and ended up grabbing a signature 6! Serial #1186!
Bass is near mint condition. Doing a setup on it at these very moment.
I don't know the numbers, but they weren't common. If I remember correctly, an acquaintance of mine had the first, a Zebra Basic 4. There was no upcharge at the time. He had a letter from M. Tobias that accompanied the bass, I can't remember all of the details, but it was a stunningly beautiful bass. Sadly wrong-handed for me. If I can remember I'll ask him if he still has that letter when I see him again.
I'm sure LH Pre Gibson basses are more rare than purple rabbits.
Sigs are sexy. Wow.
Wow! That is a stunner!

Have you adjusted pickup heights?
Mine sounded much more powerful when I raised the PUs.
I am expecting my first Pre-Gibson Tobias, Classic 5.
I remember being 12 years old and salivating all over Tobias's catalogue...ffwd 35 years and I finally get to hold one.
I will post pictures of my classic 5 once it arrives, looking forward to joining the club
You have no idea how excited I am for you. I remember when I first got mine.
My Classic 5 is here!
Looking forward to my club membership here.
Just ordered some LaBella Low Tension flats for it, I love those strings.
First Tobias and first Fretless, getting into it.
It's a fretless?
That is one sexy beast. Enjoy!
It is, lined fretless. It was fretted originally. It was done amazingly well and I am loving the fretless mwah
Beautiful. Best of luck with it.
Wow it's stunning
A real beauty!
