I have an Ampeg SVT-IV, and recentely got a SansAmp RBI preamp to boost the sound a bit. I am playing reggae bass so I need thundering low end.

Anyway, it was recently brought to my attention that the way i have it set up (guitar into SansAmp input, SansAmp out into Ampeg input) is too much, since it's basically running a preamp into a preamp.

Does anyone know the proper way to set this up for optimal performance? I'm somewhat new to having a nice setup like this (used to a simple combo), so I'm not too familiar with how to properly make all the connections.

    Thanks very much!

does your 4pro have a preamp out?

    if so, go:
preamp out of the svt into the sansamp and out of the sansamp into the pre in on the amp.
