    Good morning,

I'm on the fence about buying and repairing a friend's Fender Precision. I started a restoration thread here with pics.

    Fender Restoration Questions

So far, with the help of this forum and a local vintage shop, we were able to date the neck to 1975. The body however, remains a mystery. The pots date to 1987 and the pickups from what I've been told are 1973, and they're in need of repair as only one pickup seems good. Can anyone help identify this body? I'm assuming it's a late 80's replacement but I'm not entirely sure.

If it's a Fender body, it's been refinished and stamped in the neck pocket. That stamp leads me to believe it isn't a Fender body, though. Also, the control cavity route looks a little funky to me. It certainly isn't a 70's Fender body as it would have an additional route from the pickup cavity to the control cavity if it was.
