Precision build

so I've been really GASing for a vintage spec/vintage P since about April last year and have been saving to get a custom build by Limelight here in the UK, sadly Mark at Limelight isn't able to do what I want, so I'm now thinking of going for a self-build/self-sourced one.

The thing that really got me about the 66 P in my avatar was the neck, it was utterly spectacular! I've never felt a bass neck I liked as much and as such I'm prepared to spend a large amount of my budget on the neck, but I don't know where to begin with sourcing things!? I've got my electronics sorted already as I can make the loom myself and know which pickup I'll be going for, it's the rest of the stuff I'm struggling for!

 

When I played one I wasn't that taken by it to be honest, I've played better and feel I could achieve a better instrument another way.
