I am possibly going to replace the stock MIM precision pickups in my backup bass. I going for a stronger output and hopefully better sound . Does anyone have any input on how Quarter Pounders sound VS Geezers? Or is there something that is even better? Thanks...
strong output = DiMarzio DP127: Split P™ | DiMarzio If you want even stronger output & broader timbre, get a G&L SB-1 pickup: Pickup - SB-2 / SB1 MFD
I have geezers in my p/j, they are a major upgrade in terms of tone and clarity...output though is about the same maybe a little lower than the stock MIM pickups, but sounds 100x better in a mix. The Stock pickups were harsher, had worse string-to-string balance, and just generally didnt gel so well in a the mix.
Wow, thanks. I just saw the Geezer mega thread, guess I'll be reading that tonight. I didn't mention it, but string balance is something to think about.
