Anyone know if Fender made a '62 reissue Precision 50th anniversary model?

  6. I think I saw one on Ebay... but it was haunted! Oh, no, that was a crappy Dean bass. Hey, Bellingham is awesome. I have a bunch of friends up at Western.

In 1996 they made a Precision (other models too) celebrating Fender's 50th year, and the instrument had a flame top and gold hardware. In 2001 they made a 50th anniversary Precision, but it was not modeled after the '62 (it wasn't even modeled after the '51). All Fender instruments made in 1996 have a little sticker on the back of the headstock that says something like "Celebrating 50 Years". Don't let this sticker fool you into thinking it's a 50th anniversary model, it's just a sticker.

  8. Ah HA. Thanks for the info.

*scowls at 50th anniversary sticker on back of headstock of '62 RI* :D

  9. I also have one of those stickers on the back of my squier headstock.
