PreSonus Compressor

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by BassfromDrums, Oct 8, 2002.

  1. I just picked up one of these 1/2 rack units because I'm looking to improve my sound. I hear very little difference. Is this the kind of thing that makes it's mark mostly in the studio, or are my ears plugged up. I'm not a noisy player, pretty consistant I guess, but I'm learning slap. Is that when this thing will come in handy?

    Lemmee know the conventional wisdom!!

    Thanks!

  2. Compressor aren't supposed to be "heard."
They can extend your amps headroom,
increase sustain, add punch, and even out your attack.

Crank your amp LOUD, right to the edge of distortion. Now try playing with your compressor in and with it out... and see the difference.
