  1. I know its not worth nearly this much with the mods on it , but would would be a fair price for something like this ? I was thinking its worth around 800$ however i am not that into ricks pricing.

    pretty cool bass.

Though I doubt he'll get $1500 considering you can get one that doesn't have a battery compartment routed in the back for the same price...

I think he'd be lucky to get $1000-1200 for it.

    $1000 probably, tops.
Early 4003s are good basses, though.
Needs a good cleaning and a polish.
The 7 screw tail means no lift, ever. Very solid, sounds just like a 4001 with a very similar neck (thin).
    Great for a 4-2-5 mod!

$1500 for that modded beater with no SN plate? No way! I think your $800 is way to high. That is a mid 80's (83-86), two piece pg & 7 screw bridge. The neck is wide & thick on my 85 and I love it. I only paid $1000.00 for mine and it is nice. They are out there you just have to look and jump fast when they come along.

800 Sounds about right. you can get a well used one, but all original for 1000-1200.
  6. $700. IMO

Also, guitarists who don't know how to restring basses irritate me.
  7. He dropped it to 1300$, i'll just wait tell he gets lower to what I want to pay 7-800$, I almost had another just like this no battery route for 1000$ in May but had to many basses at the time.

Hell, I'd let my factory original 1-owner '99 4003 go for $1500 if the buyer would check out/pick up personally....

On this one, who knows how much further he went than just the hole in the back. Amazing what kind of cash people want for junk these days....
