I've been away from talkbass for a long time but I'm coming back slowly. I might have a chance to get an all inclusive bass rig perfect for the home player like me.

Would this be a good deal?

    Fender Mike Dirnt w/ HSC
    Ampeg B2 combo
    & Digitech BP200

Would you do this for around $600 USD?

Is it a good deal? I would say the Dirnt second hand around 3-350, Ampeg combo about 300 and the Digitech around 100. So if those items appeal to you, you wouldn't be losing your shirt on them.

No. The B2s and all their many variations are probably the most hated amp family on TalkBass over the past decade, and the MFX is pretty negligible (I've had a later B2 amp head and a more extensive Digitech MFX and consider them both wastes of money). The original Dirnts were really hit-or-miss, and judging from the age of the other stuff, I'm assuming the bass is older.

It's not that this is a terrible deal, but it's not stuff I'd intentionally buy, with the possible exception of the Dirnt if it were a good example, but they tend to be really heavy.

I just commented on the value of the items, not the quality, which I would have to agree with Bongo on. It's not the best stuff out there for that price.

    Thanks all!

I will say that I "returned to bass" with a super craigslist deal. I got a MIM Squier P Bass (mid 90s) for $40!
