This is a vintage Electra Corsair Bass, which is a Rickenbacker copy made in the lawsuit era. This bass sounds and plays great. This bass is all original except for one pickguard screw and the bridge pickup
    Features include:
    - Fireglow finish
    - Triangle Inlays
    - Neck-through construction
    - Original toaster pickup in neck position
    - 1/2 of a '84 Fender Fullerton '52 Reissue P Bass pickup in the bridge position (note -output of this pickup is significantly lower than the neck pickup - other half of the pickup will be included)
    - Standard and stereo outputs
    - Original Hard Shell Case
This bass is in fair condition. There is a decent amount of fretwear and the truss rod is stiff but still functioning. There is some minor cosmetic damage that does not interefere with playability, and is what you would expect from a bass this age. I am only selling to "downsize the herd". I love this bass and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

  2. Oh, that's interesting. I've had an idea for a highly modified Rickenbacker project that might be seen as heretical were I to butcher a real Rickenbacker, but perhaps wouldn't be so crazy if done with something like this.

How's the action other than buzzes that may come from the worn frets? Can you elaborate about the truss rod? It's a single truss rod in this? What type of design is it? My idea would include a new fingerboard, so perhaps an opportunity to correct any problem there.

There's a similar one on my local Craigslist and I am certainly intrigued.

It is indeed a single truss rod - It turns, but at certain point turning counterclockwise it seems to become much looser. Action is set pretty high at the moment so there isn't any significant fret buzz - I'm not super knowledgeable about truss rods in general, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. This would be the perfect bass to mod!
