    Price:
    $2100
    Strings:
    6
    Location:
    New York
    PRICE DROP

This is the infamous Darth Roscoe SKB3006 that's been here a couple of times before. Completely and utterly murdered out - black as death. So black that in some pics it looks almost deep purple. Also, notice how clean/reflective the surface of this bass is. Ridiculous.

It's in impeccable condition in part because everyone who's owned it has babied it, but also because I've just not played it. My Smith 6 gets all my attention.

    Some brief specs:
    • Made over the summer of 2007
    • 34" scale ("off the menu" option)
    • Ebony fretboard (now a $1000 upcharge)
    • Diamondwood nut
    • Maple/Purpleheart neck with cherry and maple accents
    • Mahogany body
    • Roscoe Bartolini OEM pickups
    • Bartolini 3 band EQ
    • Volume/Blend/Mid(push/pull mid shift)/Bass&Treble stack
    • Dunlop dual design straplocks
    • Black as hell, one of a kind
    • Roscoe fitted case
I'm asking $2100 fully insured/shipped to lower CONUS. No international shipping (sorry). Not interested in trades. Thanks for checking it out!

    Beautiful bass.

How much more black can this be?

Gorgeous bass! I'd be all over it if I didn't already have an all-black 6'er (with back of neck also painted black). GLWTS!

I don't remember seeing this one before. Amazing finish. The C string looks really thick. Must be all the black.

Are these the Roscoe Spec Barts or the "Classic" Barts? Im assuming Roscoe Spec given the year but wanted to check.
Do you have any video or sound clips?

Hey Robin. As per the original owner (and listed above):
    • Roscoe Bartolini OEM pickups
    • Bartolini 3 band EQ
I don't have any video/audio. Only played it a couple times in my studio since owning it. I've owned a Roscoe before that was outfitted with an OBP-3 preamp which I can say sounded warmer and more vintage (that's what the OBP-3 is known for so...). This one sounds great though - deep and punchy lows, clear (not tinny) highs. Ridiculously low action and clean as a whistle :)

Ha ha! You still have the Roscoe I sold you back in the day? That was a nice bass...that OBP-3 preamp sounded so good w/that maple fretboard. Hope you're well.

That dark burgundy with the OBP-3 was very nice as is this particular Roscoe! All of my 6 string basses have been traded or sold.
ETA: I really like to see people get loose on a 6 string bass but I never actually got to that point!

Beautiful bass! I believe that I remember when this one was made (we still had the Roscoe forum). I think Brendan had it made. I always wondered where this one ended up going .......

Great Price for IMO one of the very best playing 6'er on the planet! Someone's going to get a great deal on a great bass!

Thanks for the shout! This is indeed Brendan's old bass. Such a beauty and hoping it goes to someone who will play it more than I. Cheers!

Against my better judgement I'm considering a catch and release on this one.

This is a smoking bass. It can take crazy low setup- probably the lowest action I've ever experienced! Awesome neck and the ebony board is just killer!!

However, the frets just seem too ... parallel ;-)

PM me if you are interested. I'll probably post a new FS/FT thread soon.
