For sale (no trades please) is a beautiful example of the BFR (Ball Family Reserve) basses from Ernie Ball Music Man. This one is stellar, in looks, playability and tone. It also features some amazing after market upgrades done by TB'er Doner Designs that make it truly unique. All original parts are included too! Some of the upgrades include: - Ebony fretboard - Roasted maple neck with INSANE birdseye figuring - Transparent pickguard and control plate that really show off the finish (originals included) - Beautiful wood grain on the body - Ball Family Reserve inlay at the 12th fret - Matching Drop D tuner (original included) - Dual humbucker configuration with 5-way toggle Steve had it setup for BEAD tuning, but I've had it professionally put back to EADG with factory EBMM compensated nut. It is also re-strung with a brand new set of D'Addario Chromes. Original photos: Asking $1495 $1450 $1395 shipping in the CONUS, Paypal OK. Thanks for looking!
Very pretty! I've got a BFR 4HH as well, although mine is Black Sugar - these are *wonderful* instruments. GLWTS!
Took her out of the case last night and played through my Epifani rig and wow mama.... There's a whole lotta tone coming out of this baby.
Thanks. I'm happy with the pictures but they even don't come close to showing off the 3-D look of the neck. Tom, I hear you! If I had the spare change she'd be staying here! All the best!
What type of wood is that on the body? It appears to be alder. Also, what flats are those that are on there in the pictures? FF
I'm not 100% certain on body wood, I believe it is Ash and it looks to be a single piece. I'll see if I can find a definitive answer though. The strings are a fresh set of D'Addario Chrones.
