    Hey there,

Up for your consideration is my 1978 Gibson RD Standard. It does have some obvious wear from being 41 years old, but I'd say it's in great shape! The maple has some beautiful wood grain and flame! When I bought it, there seemed to be a tiny seperation (my guess is from the buckle rash and being in different climates). This in no way effects sound, functionality or playability. I have since had it professionally repaired. You'll never have to worry about it again! I also had a TUSQ nut installed. The previous owner had a brass nut and the strap buttons that came on the bass, I will include both in the sale. The bass currently has Schaller strap locks installed and will come with the aftermarket case pictured. I will split the cost of shipping. I will include a black Hipshot Supertone bridge in the sale. Let me know if you have any questions!

  5. Hey there! I am in Southern California. Riverside County to be specific.

  6. Price drop!

  7. How heavy is that one?

  8. It’s definitely a vintage maple monster! According to my scale it’s 11lbs 3oz, but it never felt that heavy to me. It surprisingly balances very well on a strap.

I bought a sweet Gibson memory foam strap: The Fatboy... My RD Artist is an anchor, but I can practice for hours, pain free with the Fatboy... Gigs? No sweat... The strap is quite expensive, and it took me a few months to get over the idea that it was too extravagant, but I don't regret it one bit. Can't go back to those skimpy cheapo straps.

Slung low, with the right strap, that bass will be a joy to play! Where my monies at when I need them!?!?!

  10. Nice! I use a regular Couch strap and it’s super comfy! A cheap-o Ernie Ball strap might not work like you said haha.

  15. If I didn’t need the money right now, I’d definitely keep it. It’s a rock machine!
