Difficult decisions are being made here.

I had really hoped to keep this gem, but need the money for other things.

This is a 2001 model, with a dragonwood (aka empress) body, maple neck, and ebony board. It is finished in purpleheart black burst, and is just beautiful. 34 inch scale, 1.8” nut, 18 mm string spacing at the bridge. Light weight At 8 lb 12 oz.

Plays great... several design elements remind me of my old STR. Quality hardware including brass nut. sounds fantastic! Really love the electronics!! And the ebony board!!

    I traded for it here:

I was under the impression that it was the same bass. Sure looks and sounds like it, but perhaps you know more about my bass than I do? Regardless of whether it’s the same or an identical build, it’s a killer axe - in spite of your unsolicited skepticism.

I've always heard great things about Japanese Tunes - and this one is a real beauty!

I own a Japanese Tune, the build quality and materials are something to behold. I have owned several basses over the last 40 years. Two were beyond all others, an L series P and an Anderson PJ. Now my Tune Zi-II joins these other two as being the best I have ever held in my hands.

Corrected bridge string spacing spec. It was advertised to me as 19 mm, but I actually measure 18 mm center to center.

I’ve had some interest here and through CL, still currently available.

Also- for full disclosure, here are pics of repair found near top strap button. The damage is not easy to notice.

That’s a reflection of a light, not a paint chip in the bottom picture.

Wow! looks like a great price for a bass with strong reviews. I would snag this if I needed a 5 string.
