Hello, I would buy this combo, ASHDOWN MAG C115-300. Do you know if this amps has problem? Is it a good compromise between price and power? Thank you Fabi
My main combo. Very good, decent and warm sounding combo. Lacks in the highs (it's a 15", so that's to be expected). EQ is pretty good, but the 'deep' and 'bright' buttons are pretty useless. Keep in mind that this one only puts out 180-200W. You need an extension cab to get the full 300 it can push. It's my main rig, so I don't have any problems with it. Bit heavy at times though. Try lugging this thing up the stairs quietly at 3am with your parents sleeping I say go for it.
Also my main combo. JDT summed it up. No problems at all. I use the deep button if I need some boom to the bottom. The EQ is very useful. I use it alone most times, and with PA support on outdoor gigs. The direct out is after the EQ wich I like because the PA will reproduce the tone I dial in. If you want an un-altered output there's a button to disable the EQ, but you'll have to live with that tone on stage. It handles small gigs alone up to the point where the drummer needs PA support. With an extension cab it will handle just about everything. Its a good budget amp. I've been extremely happy with it. Its about 50 pounds, light for a combo. No problem, even for an older guy like me.
I have an Ashdown five 15 that is losing volume. Last night playing it hard using the effects loop booming the B string on my Schecter fiver and the input cranked suddenly the clip light went from green to orange to bright red. Now with the input at 3/4 and the volume at 1/2 it can’t keep up with a 15 watt practice amp. Any thoughts?
