I'm trying to get a bassline down for one of my band's songs, but after about a thousand tries, I can't get it right. In the last part of the bassline, I have to (very quickly) go from the 7th fret (D string) to the 2nd fret (A string), and I haven't been able to get it without either sounding like crap, or screwing up the timing. Any tips to improve finger-stretching (or whatever else would help the situation)?
  2. OK, you are going from the note A down to the note B. How about playing the A on the second fret of the G string? Either that or play the B on the 7th fret of the E string.
