ok, down and dirty question... why can I still hear a signal from my jazz bass when both volume knobs are turned down?

  2. What kind of singal?

    Noise, actual notes, static, profanities?

same thing happens to my bartolinied mim fretless jazz. Where the volume doesn't really go down all the way? you can still here what you are playing through your amp?

I have the same problem. Turning off fluorescent lights or other electrical devices usually stops it. Anyone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm going to guess it's the 60Hz AC power causing interference.

  6. Possibly a loose wire, or maybe it just wasn't wired quite right in the first place. But it sounds like a dodgy pot, to me.
