has anyone considered writing a program to be able to view various wood and finish combinations prior to building? I thought of this when trying to think about various combinations.

    Keep it fairly simple:

    - jazz body (maybe a P body also)
    - ash or figured maple for see-through finishes (solid finish won't matter)
    - maple neck with rosewood or maple fretboard

be able to choose the finish and wood style. Don't see why Warmoth hasn't done this already. It would be a wonderful help for people building their bass. USACG has a similar program, but for guitars. Too detailed though, easier to keep it basic.

    just a thought.

There's a Harley parts company...Custom Chrome I think...that has a way you can build a custom bike inside the computer by dragging and dropping various parts onto a virtual frame so the program is out there.

I never thought about it but it would be really cool to be able to do that to a bass online....
