promo pack

Discussion in 'Band Management [BG]' started by Peter Squire, Mar 16, 2005.

  1. Hi

Im putting together a new promo pack for the band. I am gonna put the demo cd in, along with a photo or two of the group.

what im a bit stuck on is the liner notes. it feels a bit odd for me to write a shiny hard-sell promo about ourselves. we're quite tight, have played a lot of decent shows and have a great reputation in this town, but it just seems wanky to write about how "great we art"

    any tips lads?

Get someone else to write that part, and stick with objective descriptions for what you write. If you've played high profile shows, just mention that and let people draw their own conclusions.

If you have any contacts in the local newspaper/radio/tv media, ask them if they'd give you a one sentence or so quote to use in your promo pack. This works out especially well if they are somewhat of a local celebrity.
