I am just wondering what is the proper way to hold a pick for bass? I've been trying to get better at it and i keep fumbling on the upstroke, I think because of how I hold the pick. I've come up with 3 ways, between my thumb and index finger, between my thumb, index and middle fingers and between my thumb adn the side of my index fingers (sort of a fist shape). The latter seems to be the one I can play the fastest, but I also have to use the most pressure to hold the pick there so I can see my hand cramping up at a show if I play that way. Any suggestions?

there are other threads on this if you search. but i use the fat corner of the pick to pluck the string and use my thumb and index. you dont need to use the skinny end of the pick unless you really want to dig in.
