Hello all, I tried a PRS bass out yesterday and really enjoyed the sound and the feel of this bass. I wanted to get your feedback on these basses bad or good - the price was around 2k with a case. I know they have built basses before and have a good rep on the guitar side - just want some feedback on if they are a good buy. Thanks
Word on the street is that the older ones are MUCH better than the new ones. IMO, 2k is a tad much for those.
i think you should try other basses in that price range and you might find a better buy. personly if i had 2 grand i would keep my eye on ebay for a used usa spector or even a europe spector.but if you like the feel and the sound of the prs better that go for it.
I played one a few weeks ago and well I was amazed. I had heard them before but this one was killer and looks great too. 2k is way to much though imo.
A pretty nice bass that seems to generally be considered overpriced. I don't disagree... When you get in that price range I think resale value is important. Spending that much money with little chance of recouping it is a commitment I wouldn't want to make.
I played a few of the older ones....I met a guy once who'd bought every one he could find..I think he had 5 or so. Also owned a bunch of PRS guitars. I wasn't real impressed by the basses. Nice looking and all that, but not designed for a bass player. That pickup right at the base of the neck bugged the crap outta me. Also weighed a ton. Tone was just so-so. The Pedulla I had then blew them all away in all respects. Haven't tried the new ones.
