Starting bid is only $850? And no one has bid on it yet?

He's ruined a rather rare and collectible G&L by putting those J pickups in there....

I'd say that the opening bid is roughly twice what that bass would fetch on the open market.

Too bad really, as an earlyish L2K is a somewhat desirable bass...

  7. Too bad it has a Kahler.

I would not have done those mods but I would play that bass all day long; and I bet it sounds good too.

  10. Reminds me of the idiot who trashed a 4001 by fitting J pups on it.

Note that I did something similar to my P copy when I was 15 but it was a cheap P copy and the result was actually pretty nice.

Later on, Fender released the Urge. I never sued them. :crying:

If replacements you can always replace the pickguard, no? That G&L can't be reverted to it's previous look nearly as easily. Without the mods that would be a great bass, with the mods it has become a niche bass.

  13. I don't see the J pups being in a very desireable location either. Seems a bit redundant to me... why not just add coil splitters or push/pull pots so the humbuckers can be made single coil?
