Say I got a new bass. What effect should I use to play this song in mah band. Like how do I get that "special" noise out of my bass?

His board is VERY simple - an EBS MultiComp and a Boss TU-2. If you want his tone you'll need a good ol' P bass and a tube amp.
  3. Neck pickup with the tone far down, played lightly.

No effects used, no effects needed.

Is there a certain number of strings i need or is it just 4?
  5. Is this a troll?

You use two strings, but if you can find a one string bass it will work as well.

Yeah but his live sound(pedalboard, etc) doesn't sound like the album. It sounds good but definately some other signal processing on the bass for the recording.

Yeah seriously...no, you need 24 strings to play that complicated of a song. :meh:

Honestly, it sounds like a guitar played through an octave pedal.

Yes, I don't think there's bass on the song at all.
