    Hello guys ,
I have a mexican Jazz bass that I would like to upgrade the pickups, the bass plays like butter, good action and set up and the neck is slick and the bass just feel good, but I do not care for the stock pickups.
So I need some idea of what are some good punchy replacement pickups ,and do I need or should I replace the controll pots too?
    Thanks Eno

Bartolini Classic Series. I've tried them all and they sound great!! I would suggest changing the pots.

I have a MIM jazz that I put DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups in and it sounds great. Stock electronics are fine. CTS pots, same as the passive USA made Jazz. At least that is what mine has. If you want a heavier sound, more lows less highs, go for the DiMarzio Model J's. That's what I've heard anyway. Haven't tried the Model J's myself.
