I'm running an avatar neo 410 and a kustom 1200 right now.

I'm starting up in a punk/ska band... I can get some pretty good tones out of this rig... its just missing... something.

Anyone playing a similar style? What is your set up?

    i saw a band (punk) play and he used a 410 and a 115
played through a old peavey (looked like the 'earth amp' style)

but he had a Pbass. that might be what your missing....with a pick btw.

    just my .02

  3. You're not missing anything as long as you have a bass. Even though the stereotypical punk setup is a Precision with a pick, you can play punk or ska-punk with pretty much anything.

im playing a sadowky jazz with a sansamp... i can pretty much nail fat mike's tone, and mark hoppus' tone...

i guess im missing the fatness that eric wilson has... then again, he played stand up on a lot of recordings.
