Since I have been hanging out at TB, I have noticed that certain standard comments are always made about basses that a given poster may not like. Here is a sampling of some I can remember:

Music Man - One Trick Pony
Fender - Bad quality control, floppy B string
Alembic - over priced and uncomfortable
Sadowsky - Too much for a Fender clone
Lakland - chunky neck, weak Barts
Ken Smith - All sound alike
Fodera - Paying for the artistry, not the sound
Peavey - You paid that for a Peavey? It can't be that good.
    Modulus - Sounds Sterile

Can you guys think of any other constant comments?

Annoying as sin, over priced, and about as popular as those stupid bug eye glasses.

I'm not looking to stir up trouble. I just find it fascinating that the same comments pop up all the time about certain brands. The fact is that all brands can be validly criticized, and that all of us have our preferences. After thirty years of playing and checking out basses, I have come to the point where I live and let live. I like what I like, you can like what you like. As long as I don't have to buy your bass, why should I care?

I don't see how you can complain about fender's B strings... I liked the ones I played.

And musicmans certainly have wide varieties of tones.

I've heard too many people say Ibanez basses are POS and poorly made and crap, just because they're made overseas and at a smaller price, but I think the SR50x series and above can prove that wrong.

What about all the slamming of amps and cabs manufacturers
such as behringer and madison/legion sound?
Not everybody has tried them, but are willing to mindlessly jump on the "it sucks" bandwagon without even ever owning one!:eyebrow:

Behringer deserve what they get. + they were selling unapproved / unauthorized by FCC products. Plus the name seems to brainwash people, especially in this neck of the woods.

Warwick: Heavy, Chunky neck, unergonomic, MECs suck etc.
    Carvin: Bad guts
    Bongo: Toilet

  16. Yes. If these had neon vomit tops and cost $6000, people would be raving about them.
