Putting an additional J pickup into a Musicman...

    Is it possible? Thinking about it, it would be a very versitile and great looking combination.

    By the way, i'm talking about the stingray 4. ;)

    I like laklands, but thats your opinion.
    I think its a good idea about the MM. I thinking about that add. pickup dealy. Probably just a seymore d for me.

    I must say that I love the flexibility of my EB Sabre (two buckers).

    The tricky part for you will be finding a J pup that matches the MM bucker.

    Iffin I'm gonna pat 3K for bass....it sure as hell better not look Fender ish. Lakland, I cast those mutha's OUT.

    MTD on the other hand....:)

    I despise all basses that don't look Fenderish, and if I'm going to spend 3 grand on a bass, I want it to look how I want it to.

    well, this is what my bass teacher did to solve the "ugly" problem with the HB and the J pickups, though expensive.

    here is what he did:

    he ripped the hb out of his MM and replaced it w/ a custom made hb with a MM style pickup on bottom, and a j pickup on top. Seymore duncan did the custom pickup for him, and it sounds GREAT. it has most of the perks of a hb and the perks of a j bass. i think that the custom made HB cost him around 500
