    hey everyone,

i used to have a huge pedalboard( furmaan spb 8 with tones of great **** on it) needless to say, i sold it all..

but i kinda wanna get back in to it, keeping it simple.

i currently have a boss odb-3 overdrive. which is great for some texture.

i was thinking about getting a basic small pedal board, like the boss one, and running these pedals

boss over drive, boss bass chorus, boss digital reverb, or maybe syb-5 bass synth?>?? ( i heard they dont track well, so i dont wanna deal with that crap)

what do u think? i love having the reverb effect for fretless. its key to add warmth and feeling.

    any recomendations?

So far all you've given us to go on is that you like Boss and you already know which of their pedals you might buy. How are we supposed to make any sort of recommendation from that? Maybe if you tell us your maximum budget and what genre(s) you play we can go from there.

    yea you are right.

wel, i pretty much play anything, jazz funk rock, pop, anything. fretless and fretted f basses, in a eden nav set up.

    playing bars and big festivals

im gonna try and search used first, i'd like to stick with boss, they are simple, readily available, and not very expensive. reliable too.

i can get the 3 pedal boss board with cables etc for 50$ used in my city, so thats a bonus aswell.

i feel like i want the synth pedal, but i dont think i would use it as much as the others. i want practical pedals, not toys.

LMB-3 (or better yet a properly-modded CS-3), BD-2, and RV-5. Personally I'd choose a chorus or an envelope filter over a reverb, but you said you like reverb.

Those are all Boss. The LMB-3 is a limiter/enhancer that has since been poorly cloned by Behringer. The CS-3 is their standard-issue compressor that is kinda meh stock, but can be modded to sheer awesomeness. The BD-2 is an overdrive that sounds like a beefed-up Tubescreamer to me.

I'm curious what the "tons of great ****" were that used to be on your "huge" pedalboard, and what you did and didn't like about each of the pedals. It may help us make suggestions that will be relevant to you.

Return that crap and get stuff that doesn't sound boring and generic. They're reliable and easily accessible, but I've found a grand total of one Boss pedal that didn't sound bland as hell. That's the PN-2 for future reference. Ridiculous square wave trem sound on that one.

    i'm not returning this "crap''

I want usable pedals. not pedals that sound good by themselves and then never get used in a live, or band situation.

for me, the chorus, over drive are totally usable.

    i'm thinking of a rv-5 or rv-3 reverb.

the rv-3 has reverbs and delay in it..
