    Hello All

The title sums it up - I'm looking for a device to practice in silence. Effects are not a priority; recording could be interesting to monitor progress, but I understand the Pandora is not exactly noise-less. All-in-one MP-BT1 approach makes it look attractive - any feedback more than welcome.

    Cheers !

I have the PX4B and have no particular noise problems with it. The MP-BT1 is newer and holds MP3's so that's a bonus, but I have no direct experience with it. The PX4B does have 100 built in drum patterns that are pretty neat to grab when writing. I use an MP3 player plugged into the Aux In to duplicate what the MP-BT1 does. Maybe someone with MP-BT1 experience can chime in on it's sound quality.

    Groove is in the heart!!!
i had the PXB3 before, i sold it and replaced by the tascam.
the PXB3's advantage was only the drum machine, its fun playing along with it, makes you practice more. the Tascam for me is better, simply because its all in one, music is inside (mp3) plus effects, tuner, metronome. its very handy and looks cool too!:)

How would you compare the effects quality? I can't ever find anyone whose owned both. I've heard the early Tascam's were not well executed but the newer models have gotten better.

the effects from tascam is not that much use for me, as well as with the pxb3 before. so i can't really say the difference. i use it mainly for practicing and learning new songs, so its just the natural sound of my bass that i hear. but sometimes i toy around with it, same with the pxb3. i think they're both good sounding. i might be wrong though, maybe the pxb3 effects sounds better cos its made mainly as an effect processor, not a bass trainer like tascam.

Thanks for the feedback - as I said, effects are far from being my priority - VERY far. I guess it boils down to drum machine vs. built-in MP3.

Can you record out to PC with the MP-BT1 ? Can't remember what I read on the spec sheet...

Sure, you just take the headphone out into your line in or mic in jack. Yu can hook an MP3 player to the Pandora or hook a drum output from your PC to the MP-BT1 and achieve all the capabilities of either.
