Going to see Primus for the Farewell to Kings tribute tonight. I drunk purchased the ticket that allows for a Q&A with the band. I've got no pressing questions to ask of Les...Anyone need any questions answered?
Shoe size. Favourite type of smoothie. Best place to shop for stage clothes. EV or Gas Best bass for metal. Best rider clause for green room
Does tonewood exist? Do high-mass bridges matter? Nitro vs Poly? Tube vs SS? Steel or nickel strings? Anything else that will divide the room into warring camps.
Ask him about what was like for him to sit down with Geddy Lee and get a hands on tutorial for YYZ by the man himself. I know he talked briefly about it in an interview but it would be cool to hear him talk about it live.
Well, if you want to get thrown out of the venue before they even play a note... Represent the TalkBass zeitgeist and ask him why he switched from an all-tube Mesa 400+ to a pair of Mesa D-800 when Class AB amps are so much better than "digital" amps, then simultaneously ignore & argue with his answer... Bonus points if you repeatedly point out that the Bass 400+ has 400 "tube watts" and now he needs 1600 "digital" watts to replace it. Sarcasm aside; I wonder if players like Les (i.e. a player who got known for having a quirky style) ever feel typecast - like their fans would balk if they just locked with the drums and grooved for an hour or so...
Can you asked him if he is going to go out on tour with Tom Waits again before the man dies? My favorite artist toured with my one of myfavorite bass players playing for him a few years ago and I found out about it after the fact. Really kicking myself over that.
This thread is why I read Talk Bass. Nice work men. (OK I am sure there are women here, but let's face it, TB is a sausage fest)
