I have a Fender Squire P-bass(not proud of it but not totally bummed with it) but I want to see if i cna add another pickup. Is it possible on mine? If anyone has any input let it flow freely.
  2. There are p basses that have been altered for a P-J configuration. The J pickup usually being in the neck position.

If your looking to do it yourself, let me ask you this...

    How's your woodworking skills?

A space needs to be routed out for the pickup. Not a task for an inexperienced woodworker.

Wiring. You'll probably want either a separate volume control for the J pickup, or a blend control, needing another hole in the cavity that contains the electronics. Or a stacked concentric volume control.

It is certainly possible, but is quite an undertaking.
