    Are these any good?
Are they better than the PLX series?
I found a used MX1500 at a reasonable price so thats why Im asking.
  2. I own an MX-3000a. The downside is weight. Lots and lots of weight.

There is a difference between the 1500 and the 1550a. The 1500a is newer and the more desirable.

I paid for all my gear myself. Well, me and MasterCard.
I believe I read somewhere recently that the MX series is going to be phased out gradually. It's one of QSC's oldest lines. Maybe Bob Lee can comment?

That said, it's probably a fine amp, if a bit heavy. I'd go for it if it fits your needs and the price is right.
  4. I'd like to have a PLX pair: 3402 and a 1202. They would fit in my 4 space rack, and still weigh only 60% of what my MX-3000a weighs.
  5. I actually prefer the older 1500s. They seem more powerful to me. The power supplies are different. Also, on some of the really old ones the input attenuators "go to 11." A little Spinal Tap from QSC:D? The only bummer on the old ones is the fan noise.
