The passive barts on my Modulus VJ-4 have a very natural, transparent sound, and I've noticed that when I roll the tone control all the way off (which is where it always is because I primarily play rocksteady/reggae) it doesn't thicken the sound nearly as much as other passive basses I've owned/played. I was thinking that the problem was the pickups, but figured I'd give Modulus a quick call to see what pot values they are using, and they said 250k for the volumes, and 500k for the tone. So, I'm thinking that replacing the 500k audio taper with a 250k linear would solve my problem. Is this correct, or am I a sad, confused individual. Thanks much for the help.

i think u are right on the money! I've also heard of people changing capacitors and upping the values to get more lows, but that just sends alot of highs to ground. I guess a 250k pot is your solution.
