I've always dug the way the old Danelectro Longhorn basses looked and sounded, but all the one's I've ever come across have been short scale.

I know Hondo cloned them in the 70s, Danelectro reissued them in the late 90s, and Jerry Jones is currently marketing them under the "Neptune" name, but did anyone ever make the longhorn bass in a 34" scale?

Look for a Dano DC, aka "shorthorn". I haven't seen a 34" longhorn, but I'm not a Dano expert. I have a DC and it is a really nice bass for the $$. Way better than it should be.

I don't think there ever was a 34" Longhorn. But, other basses in the Danelectro line were similar, in having a hollow body and the lipstick pickups.

I always thought they sounded very good. And they were feather light. Unfortunately, I think those reissues of the 90's are no longer in production.
