Question about Fender Deluxe Active Jazz

Hi guys. I just bought a Fender Deluxe Active Jazz - in transit. My question is: Is the "electronics" part of this simply a 3 band EQ, and is that really what "active" amounts to? The pickups are noisless, so they must be double coil I guess, but hopefully they still sound pretty close to a single coil. Last, if you set the EQ flat, do you pretty much have a passive bass, and when you have the active EQ, is *that* your tone control, or is there another "standard" tone control?

    Thanks - Skel

There is no tone control like you have on a passive bass. But there is a 3 band EQ, which can actually be better than one simple tone knob. It's a whole different sound all together, the whole activeness.
